Do you know what would be good? If we could put music on these blogs.

40 Hour Famine

The 40 hour famine was a great challenge but the day that we went hungry for on Tuesday was loads of fun so for most of the time food was kept off my mind. I found the hardest part missing dinner. Dinner is just so damn good and is the best meal of the day. Most days... lol. (Thanks Mum!) I was hungry yes but it was more my love to eat that made it hard. I eat to entertain myself, so when I had nothing to do it was rather boring. It was a great experience though and I felt great after I finished because I made it. I liked this challenge a lot because it was truly mine, I could give in whenever i wanted, it wasn't up to anyone else. Unlike some other challenges that depend on other people to.
This week has been so great. I love it how the teachers give us things to do and leave us to do them without telling us who particularly has to do them and what order they have to go in. It increased the need for me to be organised and i felt trusted and independent. I liked that. For some reason this week I have learnt that I have a lot more power to change things than I thought I did. I think that if you really want something no matter how many people pull you down or say that it won't happen (such as the concert that that guy who ended up organising the make poverty history concert) if you are determined enough for something to happen it will.
Friday tomorrow the last day of the hungry planet week I hope its a good day!!

Virtual life box... take a guess of who its about!!

A virtual life box of... guess who!

Flower: They are very pretty and charming and everybody loves them. but at the slightest touch they can break or be wrecked and it is very hard for them to fixed, it is possible but hard work.

Cookie: Everyone loves cookies. people make them and love them! though if you push the cookie it can crush and break. sometimes the cookie neeeds more ingredients to realise that it doesnt always have to crumble.

My Mission Statement.

Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It’s an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It’s a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.

This is my mission statement. i have been living by this for quite sometime but i didn't realise that is was sort of a mission statement. reading this makes me realise that no challenge is to big and that i can achieve anything if i want it badly enough.

My Sonnet

Dreams are a night time journey, lead alone.
They are what are inside us, the deep truth.
They show who you are, you’re more than a clone.
You may choose to deny what you dream in youth
But as long as you are breathing in sleep,
You will dream, you will go up to the stars
The memories of night you may choose to keep.
Dreams for some might be of free land or bars
Others of lost love or lonely heart pain
In the night we fly away into a mysterious land
Yet every night people dream, we’re the same.
When you go to rest your head take my hand
For I’m your soul, to capture you for tonight
Now take my arm; don’t be afraid to take flight.

ACT 3 What will happen now?

I think that Margret will eventualy let everybody know that it was her not Hero that was having a good time but it was infact her. I think that claudio and Hero will end up together and so will Beatrice and Benedick. Things will be resolved but in the mean time there will be much confusion and fighting of what happend and i think that the truth will be confussed but then resolved. Don John will eventualy be found out and people will see that he is a mean boy!

POEM

Thou little white lie meant not to structure hate.
It hath meant to bring two beings into love.
Thou open hate hath been turned into open love between the ever more quarrelling Beatrice and Benedick.
While Beatrice and Benedick’s hate has been turned on reverse,
So hath the love of Claudio and Hero.
Jealousy has taken over Claudio’s love sick mind, and hath left thou Hero ill with pain of hurt.
Thus section of ‘Much Ado about Nothing’ demonstrates the difference between a little white lie and another lie can cause the difference between everlasting love and cruelness of hate.

Shakespeare response. #1.

"I thankyou, I am not of many words, but I thankyou. " -Don John

  1. Don John is saying thankyou and letting Leonarto know that a thankyou coming from him was reat thing. Don John is not a man of many words, thus saying that any words coming from him are a blessing. I feel that this help us realise the importance of these words. words have great power.
  2. Words throughout this play have very great importance. Beatrice and Benedick have a very interesting use of words. We can all feel the energy flowing between these two even if they are always bickering. Personaly i can relate to this. There have been times when i have said something i really didnt mean and i actualy ment the oposite thing. I feel that most citisens of this world have been in much the same position.
  3. i feel that he truely ment the thankyou and that by never saying much at all the thankyou truely ment something. Shakespeare had a nack for stresing the point of importance. well done shakespeare.

Romantic LOVE!!

It all started with the ancient Greeks' realisation of the need to be able to describe more than just one kind of love.
In ancient times, many of the first marriages were by capture, not choice - when there was a scarcity of women, men raided other villages for wives. Often the tribe that the warrior stole their bride from would come looking for her, and the warrior and his new wife had to go into hiding to avoid being found.
Arranged marriages were the norm, primarily business relationships born out of the desire and/or need for property and money.
These days’ women have the freedom to marry whoever they choose, (mostly). Although in some religions peoples marriages are still set up.

“Love is blind”
“Love at first sight”

Love can be blind when you don’t realise it is there. Someone may love you and you do not realise that he or she may be the one for you, and it is like you are to blind to see the love that is there.

Love at first sight is a tricky one. I guess you would have to experience it to know if it can happen. If you see someone that you may want to go after normally it is because of looks. You cant just take one look at the person and decide weather you love them or not.

These days songs about love often refer to jealous love, sexual desire or unfulfilled love.

William Shakespeare

Shakespeare was born on the 26th of April 1564, in strapford -upon- Avon. he had 7 brothers and sisters, his parents names were John and Mary Arden. in November 1582 i married Anne Hathaway and had 3 children after. For most of his life he lived in stratford -upon- Avon. Shakespeare wrote poems, plays and sonnets. He wrote 38-41 plays, most of them were about either history, comedy, tragedy, romance or problem plays. Shakespeare had his own language really. when he wrote his plays he used old english. Back then that is how people spoke, they used words like 'tis and o'er. some of his most famouse lines from plays are :

"to be or not to be, that is the question!" (Hamlet)

"Oh romeo, oh romeo! wherefore out thou romeo?" (Romeo and Juliet)

"Et tu, brute?" (Julius Caesar)

in 1594 Shakespear joined Lord Chamberlins Men theatre company. latter it was named The Kings Men.

In Shakespeare's plays only men were aloiud to act. men even had to act out womens roles as women were not seen worthy to act.

thus concludes thou information on William Shakespeare!

8 below (real one to be read)

i thoroughly enjoyed the movie '8 Below'. I love dogs, and to see dogs working together and show more team work than i seen most humans do. i wanted to cry when some of the dogs die but all of the dogs inspiared me, as they kept going.

it is important for the year 9 program because it shows leadership and team work. if everyone watched out for each other and showed leadership as the dogs did this world would be a wonderful place. Even if not everyone is like this then at least we can be and become leaders in the big wide world.

of corse i watch PG disney movies! they still have happy endings and that is the one thign that can stay the same in this world.

being a true story this helped inspiar me even more to know that real things like this can happen.

The movie was very well made, the build up of emotion was great. My face was starting to hurt because i was trying so hard not to cry.

I lernt that even if things get tough good can still come.

" You ought to take chances for the things you care about" made me think that if i have a goal i should take chances to get to it and the quote"find the one thing that will put your heart at rest" made me see that if you want something bad enough once you find it your heart will be at rest. these are very powerful quotes.

thanks for reading mate!!!

8 Below

i hated this movie a lot.... NOT!!
it contained traces of:
-dog
-seal
-bird
-human
-deceased whale
-snow
-ice
-Simone's fancied men
-plans
-planes *has a sore belly button*
-cars
-death
-life
-wind
and last but not least "WHY DON'T YOU GO MARRY THE MOVIE IF YOU LOVE IT SO MUCH!!"

"how does the media choose the stories they tell?"

The media tell the stories they tell because they know what the public will want to know about. The terrorist attacks on the twin towers on September 11 in 2001 were said to be Osama bin Ladin’s doing. This is what the media told us. This s what the public wants to believe. America doesn’t want to know that it was the American government that set it up. The thought of Americans wanting to blow up the twin towers was scandalous. The media tell us what is big news such as the terrorist attacks or other things such as global warming. The media tells us things that we will want to find out more about and want to understand better. Telling us that Osama bin Ladin was to blame in the attacks was easier to believe, nobody wants to know or to realise that it is possible that the American government planned the attack. People want somebody to blame for the tragedy and the media will feed them the people to blame. The media chooses the stories that we will want to hear, the stories that we may debate, and the stories that have effected lives. These are just some of the reasons the media choose some of the stories they tell.

TOYS!

TOYS!!

The old fashioned toys are in a way more beneficial to children than new age toys in those old toys are more hands on. I miss that kids are always inside now days as there is now computer games. Old toys were very hands on and a lot more active in a way. Although they had a way of manipulating kids into thinking that they had to be one way. Boys got all of the adventure and they had the power while girls stayed at home and played with toy washing machines and toy irons. This is not fair, as women are just as powerful as men these days. New age toys have some of the same characteristics although girls have a bit more adventure and power in their toys. There are electronic games that are becoming more and more popular and kids are not outside as much anymore. New age toys are fairer and more suitable for children as they show that men and women are both equal and boys do not have more power over girls. On the other hand the old toys kept kids more active. Both old and new toys have their benefits but I think that new age toys are better because they don’t give ‘a way you should be’ appearance, they show a lot more opportunity for girls, to let females know that they can have power as well.

Wolf on the fold

Every story in wolf on the fold has a form of powerlessness. I think that everyone experiences some form of powerlessness in their lives. Let’s explore all the different aspects of powerlessness in the book ‘wolf on the fold’.

In Dilkusha they were kicked out of their country because it was being taken over and they weren’t allowed to stay. In the story ‘Jerusalem the golden’ Frances felt a sense of powerlessness in not being able to stop the war that is coming. In the first story Kenny had no choice in the matter of getting a job.

In Dilkusha they were Indian and they lived in Africa. It was their home. Until _______ over took the country and decided that they wanted all of the ‘foreigners’ out because _________ decided that they wanted their country back for themselves. Raj and Kanti’s family had to leave or else they would be killed.

‘Jerusalem the golden’ was a story about Kenny’s daughter Frances and her son Gabriel.
