"how does the media choose the stories they tell?"
The media tell the stories they tell because they know what the public will want to know about. The terrorist attacks on the twin towers on September 11 in 2001 were said to be Osama bin Ladin’s doing. This is what the media told us. This s what the public wants to believe. America doesn’t want to know that it was the American government that set it up. The thought of Americans wanting to blow up the twin towers was scandalous. The media tell us what is big news such as the terrorist attacks or other things such as global warming. The media tells us things that we will want to find out more about and want to understand better. Telling us that Osama bin Ladin was to blame in the attacks was easier to believe, nobody wants to know or to realise that it is possible that the American government planned the attack. People want somebody to blame for the tragedy and the media will feed them the people to blame. The media chooses the stories that we will want to hear, the stories that we may debate, and the stories that have effected lives. These are just some of the reasons the media choose some of the stories they tell.

TOYS!
TOYS!!
The old fashioned toys are in a way more beneficial to children than new age toys in those old toys are more hands on. I miss that kids are always inside now days as there is now computer games. Old toys were very hands on and a lot more active in a way. Although they had a way of manipulating kids into thinking that they had to be one way. Boys got all of the adventure and they had the power while girls stayed at home and played with toy washing machines and toy irons. This is not fair, as women are just as powerful as men these days. New age toys have some of the same characteristics although girls have a bit more adventure and power in their toys. There are electronic games that are becoming more and more popular and kids are not outside as much anymore. New age toys are fairer and more suitable for children as they show that men and women are both equal and boys do not have more power over girls. On the other hand the old toys kept kids more active. Both old and new toys have their benefits but I think that new age toys are better because they don’t give ‘a way you should be’ appearance, they show a lot more opportunity for girls, to let females know that they can have power as well.

Wolf on the fold
Every story in wolf on the fold has a form of powerlessness. I think that everyone experiences some form of powerlessness in their lives. Let’s explore all the different aspects of powerlessness in the book ‘wolf on the fold’.
In Dilkusha they were kicked out of their country because it was being taken over and they weren’t allowed to stay. In the story ‘Jerusalem the golden’ Frances felt a sense of powerlessness in not being able to stop the war that is coming. In the first story Kenny had no choice in the matter of getting a job.
In Dilkusha they were Indian and they lived in Africa. It was their home. Until _______ over took the country and decided that they wanted all of the ‘foreigners’ out because _________ decided that they wanted their country back for themselves. Raj and Kanti’s family had to leave or else they would be killed.
‘Jerusalem the golden’ was a story about Kenny’s daughter Frances and her son Gabriel.
